Prayer for the Week of 2/13-2/19

Dear Band of Women... our prayer this week is written by Pastor Mike Hayes. Let's unify together.

As we pray for our nation this week, I am thinking about the power of our words, especially conversational words. Admittedly I am the new guy in Washington DC. This assignment requires hearing God carefully. The words for our prayer come directly from scripture. Paul the Apostle says to the believers at Colossi, “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” (Colossians 4:6 NIV)

This scripture is personally challenging to me. You? In these days of the slings and arrows of vitriolic words aimed at the opposition, we so easily forget, we are RECONCILERS. Would you join me in considering our conversation? Can we ask God together to:

1. Cover our conversation with His grace

2. Season it with the salt of preservation

3. Give us the right answer for all people, at all times. In Jesus name we ask. Amen! Love to you all. Thanks for joining me in praying for our nation. Tell your friends to join us on the National Renewal Prayer Team- it's easy! (tell them how) Text NATRENEW to 41411

Father, we thank you for the gift you have given us to promote LOVE with WHAT WE SAY AND HOW WE SAY IT!! We turn our Spirit, Soul, and Body over to you to direct and exemplify you. Teach us to first inquire of you before we react to others who may not feel like we do, but instead we will respond in love. We desire our words to be savory and sweet. Kind words will turn away wrath. Let our conversation cause the ears that hear to hunger after the God we love and serve. Let your aroma entice others to desire to taste and see that the Lord is good. Take control Holy Spirit over how we use media. Cause us to promote Love and Unity in all we say and do in Jesus Name, Amen.

May we BOW (Band of Women) together!

Pastor Kathy Hayes
